Frequently asked questions

Are there payment plans available?

Yes, we can set up a payment plan where you make fortnightly payments onto your account in installments that work for you and your cash flow. You can also pay it off sooner than those dates if you like. Just email sarah@deestreet.com.au to set it up and start dancing!

I've never danced before, does that matter?

Not at all. At Dee Street we specialise in teaching those who say they are un-co or have 2 left feet. We have made dance accessible and enjoyable for several students who had little or no dance experience or even any interest in it before dancing with us. We pride ourselves on being super beginner friendly; our teaching style is encouraging at every level.

I'm un-fit. Should I still attend class?

Totally. Our approach to teaching dance is one that allows each individual to choose their pace, determine what works for them and rest or modify as much as needed. Your fitness will improve as you regularly attend classes.

What should I wear and bring?

Comfortable clothes that you can move freely in, and comfy shoes (sneakers / street shoes are fine). You can choose to dance in shoes or bare feet, up to you. If you get pretty sweaty you can bring a towel to be more comfortable. Bring water to stay hydrated.

Do you take photos and videos in class?

Our teachers and some students occasionally take photos and videos during class. We may use images and/or footage from classes and of students on our website or in other promotional materials, and we often post photos and/or videos to Facebook and Instagram and other social media platforms.

What if I don't want to be photographed or videoed?

That is so fine. You do not have to be photographed or videoed if you prefer not to be, no questions asked.

If you don’t feel comfortable with the possibility of your image making its way into the public forum and the internet, please let your teacher know at the start of the course and class and make sure you opt out of any photos or video filming. If you don’t tell us, we won’t know you’re not ok with us photographing you.
